ABOUT FRED KINNEY
Mr. Kinney is an Southern California based designer and had has designed over 80 theatre productions as well as trade shows and television. He has worked at numerous theaters: South Coast Repertory, A Noise Within, San Diego Repertory, The Prince Music Theater, New Jersey Repertory, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Triad Stage, Vienna’s English Theatre to name a few.
Mr. Kinney has also worked on television productions such as Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas Extravaganza, Jeopardy!, Urban Monk, Basketball Wives. He has assisted scenographer Pamela Howard, O.B.E. and production designer Andrew Jackness. Mr. Kinney has been a Visiting Artist at Stanford Drama Department’s Summer Theatre, Stanford University & at Montclair State University, Montclair, New Jersey.
Fred is a member of USA 829 and a professor of scenic design at California State University, Fullerton. He is a recipient of the NEA/TCG Career Development Program for Designers and holds a M.F.A. from the Yale School of Drama and a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
